Skypat P® Tablet

Aceclofenac & Paracetamol Tablets

Description

Skypat P Tablets are a combination of  Aceclofenac (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent – NSAIDs)and Paracetamol (an analgesic and antipyretic agent) that are used to treat pain and swelling. It is widely used in the treatment of Osteoarthritic pain, Rheumatoid Arthritis for pain management. It is commonly taken as an analgesic worldwide.

Key Benefits

  • Significant symptomatic pain relief thereby improves the quality of life
  • Better GI tolerability than conventional NSAIDs
  • Offers synergistic analgesic action
  • Well tolerated and possesses a higher safety profile

Mode of action

The mode of action of Aceclofenac is largely based on the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. Aceclofenac is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme cyclo-oxygenase COX-1 and COX-2), which is involved in the production of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are the chemical substances released by the body and promote inflammation, pain (mild to moderate) and fever.

Paracetamol has analgesic (pain killer) and antipyretic (reduce fever) properties. It produces analgesia by blocking chemical messengers in the brain that causes pain and shows antipyretic activity by acting on the hypothalamus (a gland present in the brain and is responsible for regulating the body temperature).
