Description

Neobact ointment is used to treat primary and secondary skin infection. It is an antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of certain bacteria. Neobact ointment is effective in staphylcoccus aureus and streptococcus pyogenes. It is also active against Gram-negative organisms such as Escherichia coli and Haemophilus influenzae.

Mode of action 

Neobact ointment primarily works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. Due to its unique mode of action of inhibiting the activity of bacterial isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase, mupirocin does not demonstrate cross-resistance with other classes of antimicrobial agents, giving it a therapeutic advantage. It is available in topical formulations only due to extensive systemic metabolism

Directions for use 

Apply to the affected area 3 times daily for up to 10 days or as directed by your physician
